I am through with two-thirds of my PSM posting and here' some good and bad stuff about it-
Bad stuff-
1) Patients calling my female colleagues sister and male one's doctor.
2) Prescribing the same antibiotic to almost everyone.
3) Travelling to Vashind.
4) Waiting for the van that takes us to the UHC in hot sun.
5) Missing the van by seconds and then spending money on cab.
6) Over crowded OPDs, uh well, over crowded by interns.
7) Interns arguing in front of patients. (Thats really LS!)

Good stuff-
1) Giving health talk.
2) Actually seeing patients like a doc, unlike in other departments.
3) Playing with the kids.
4) Kids making faces at you when asked to open their mouths and say "Ah". (Thats really cute.Seriously, they try their best!)

hmmm.. thats all i can think of now. Will keep updating this space..

btw, i've had an argument in front of patients before. my cointern was expecting me to stay beyond my already-finished 24-hr shift to take a transfer from cooper! fat chance!

there are times when personal health and sleep recovery matters more than sounding non-LS (whatever LS is). :D

LS is indeed Low Society. u know, there r ppl u like to poke their nose in every thing b4 even gettin the whole info rt. They r LS wen they argue in front of pts. Also r those who guide the pt to their colleagues with a wicked smile n then the LS colleague wud giv d what-the-hell look. Imagine how the pt wud perceive it. N then u expect them to b compliant n all...

im embarrassed to admit that i'm continuously called "sister". worst part is, they don't seem to call any of my friends that. an observant friend remarked that patients especially do that when i'm wearing a white chudidhar. that plus the lab coat must be looking very "sister-like". maybe its the same in ur case...
